Privacy Policy

Effective September 22, 2026. Replaces the policy of September 15, 2026.

Furranium is a product line of Jovian Scientific LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers three things: the website furranium.com, the store on it, and the Furranium app for iPhone, iPad and Android. Read it once; it is written to be short and true.

The short version

The store keeps what it needs to ship your order and answer you. The website uses Google tools to measure visits and advertising, which you can opt out of. The app collects nothing: everything it does stays on your devices, and it has no account.

Information you give us

Orders. When you buy something we receive from Stripe, our payment processor, your name, e-mail address, phone number, shipping address, what you bought and what you paid. We never see or store your card number; Stripe handles payment on its own pages under its own privacy policy.

Contact form. Your name, e-mail address, phone number if you give one, and your message. It is e-mailed to us and answered by a person.

Address suggestions. As you type a shipping address at checkout, the text you type is sent to Google's Places service to suggest completions. Google receives only what you type into that field.

Information collected automatically on the website

Analytics and advertising. The website loads Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking. These set cookies and collect your IP address, device and browser details, the pages you view, and the actions you take such as adding to cart or completing a purchase. Google uses this to show us how the site is used and how our advertising performs, and may combine it with other data it holds about you under its own policies. We do not receive your identity from Google. We do not use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel or any other advertising tracker.

When these tools stay off. The website does not load Google Analytics or Google Ads at all when your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, or when your device's settings place you in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. Nothing is asked of you; they simply never load.

Your cart is kept in your own browser's storage so it survives a page reload. It is not sent to us until you check out.

Server logs. Our web server records requests with IP addresses for security and troubleshooting, and rotates them within days.

How we use it

To fulfil and ship orders, send order confirmations and shipping notices, answer your messages, handle returns, keep records the law requires (tax, accounting), prevent fraud, and understand which pages and advertisements work. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not send marketing e-mail unless you have asked for it.

Who we share it with

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Resend — delivers our transactional e-mail (order confirmations, replies).
  • Shipping carriers — your name, address and phone number, to deliver the parcel.
  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Places) — as described above. Under California law the Ads tag can count as "sharing" for cross-context advertising; see your choices below.
  • Apple — if you use the app's iCloud option or its remote viewing, described in the app section.
  • Authorities — when the law requires it.

Nobody else. We do not rent or sell lists.

Your choices about tracking

You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site works without them. To limit Google's use of your data, use Google's Analytics opt-out and Google Ads settings. The simplest way is to turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser: we treat it as a request not to sell or share your personal information, and the Google tools do not load. You can also e-mail us to opt out of sharing for advertising, and we will honour it for the identifiers you give us.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, generally seven years, then deleted. Contact-form messages are kept until the matter is closed and then for a year. Analytics data is kept by Google under its retention settings, which we set to the shortest option offered. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; we will do so unless a legal duty makes us keep a record of the order itself.

Security

Order data lives in a database on a server we operate, reachable only over encrypted connections, with backups kept for fourteen days. Card data never touches our systems. No method is perfect; if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, get a copy of it, or object to how we use it. Write to the address at the end; we answer within thirty days and never charge for it.

California residents have the right to know, delete and correct, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. We share it with advertising platforms as described above; to opt out, turn on Global Privacy Control, use the other choices in "Your choices about tracking", or e-mail us. We have not sold or shared the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for anything beyond fulfilling your order.

Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: we process order data to perform the contract with you and to meet legal obligations; contact messages on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you; and we do not load analytics or advertising tools for visitors whose device settings place them in your region, as described above. The store does not ship outside the United States. You may complain to your local data protection authority. Our servers are in the United States; by using the site you understand your data is processed there.

Children

The website, the store and the app are for adults. The app is rated 4+ because it contains nothing objectionable, but it is designed for the cat's owner, not for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, e-mail us and we will delete it.

The Furranium app

The app has no account and no sign-in. It contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code. We collect nothing from it.

Paw Hunt keeps the record of your cat's hunts in a file on the device. Nothing leaves the device.

Pet Cam uses the camera of the phone you set up as a camera. Pets are recognised on that phone itself by Apple's on-device recognition; the video never goes to us. Sightings and short clips are stored on that phone and deleted according to the retention you choose in the app (a week, a month, or while there is room), or whenever you delete them yourself.

Pet Cam records pictures, not sound. It may capture people who pass in front of the camera; that video is treated exactly like the rest and never reaches us.

When you pair a second phone to watch, the two phones find each other through our relay server and agree a key that only they hold. After that the picture and the record travel between your phones, directly over your Wi-Fi when they are together and through the relay when they are apart. Everything the relay forwards is encrypted end to end with that key; it cannot read the video, keeps no video and keeps no account. Like any server, it sees the internet address a phone connects from while the connection lasts. It writes an address to its log only in shortened form, and only when it refuses a connection; those logs are rotated within days. The only thing it retains is a per-device key issued through Apple's App Attest service (or Google's Play Integrity service on Android), which it uses to decide whether a device may connect; that key is not linked to you. Apple and Google process the attestation under their own policies.

When the camera asks you to confirm it is you before pairing or stopping, it uses your phone's own Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. The app learns only whether the phone said yes; it never receives your face, fingerprint or passcode. Notices that a new phone has started watching are made on your phones themselves.

Invitations you send to family are links that carry the invitation in a part of the address that is never sent to any server.

If you turn on "Also keep a copy in iCloud" (off by default), the record is stored in your own iCloud account under Apple's terms, and Apple's push service tells your other devices when it changes. We have no access to it.

To delete everything the app holds, delete the app from your devices. If you used the iCloud option, also remove the app's data under Settings › iCloud › Manage Storage. To have the relay forget a device's key, e-mail us the date you paired and we will remove it.

Changes

When this policy changes we update the date at the top and, for changes that matter to you, say so on this page for thirty days. Continuing to use the site or the app after a change means the new policy applies.
