Terms & Conditions

Effective September 22, 2026.

Furranium is a product line of Jovian Scientific LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("we", "us"). These terms cover the website furranium.com, the store on it, and the Furranium app. By using the website, placing an order, or using the app, you agree to them, and to our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Return & Refund Policy, which are part of these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

You must be at least 18 to place an order or to set up Pet Cam.

Please read section 9. It says that most disputes between us are settled by individual arbitration rather than in court or as a class action, and it explains how to opt out within 30 days.

1. The store

Where we sell. The store sells to customers in the United States and ships only to the places listed in the Shipping Policy.

Prices and mistakes. Prices are in U.S. dollars and can change until you place your order. Sales tax is added where the law requires it. We work to keep prices, descriptions and pictures right, but mistakes happen. If something was listed at a wrong price or with wrong information, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even after it was confirmed.

When the contract is made. Your order is an offer to buy. The confirmation e-mail says we received it; the contract is made when we ship. Until then we may decline or cancel an order — for example when stock has run out, when payment cannot be verified, or when we suspect fraud or resale — and we will refund anything you paid for it.

Payment. Payment is taken by Stripe, our payment processor, on its own pages. We never see your card number.

Delivery. Delivery times are estimates, not promises. If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, tell us as the Shipping Policy describes and we will put it right.

Returns. The Return & Refund Policy says what can be returned, when, and how.

Discount codes. A code has no cash value, works once per order unless it says otherwise, cannot be combined with another code, and may be withdrawn at any time before an order is placed.

Personal use. Products are sold for your own household, not for resale. We may limit quantities.

2. Using our products safely

Use each product as its instructions say and only for the animal and purpose it was made for. Introduce anything new to your pet gradually, watch how they take to it, and stop using it if it frightens or harms them. Check products regularly and replace them when worn or damaged. Keep packaging, bags and small parts away from children and pets. Nothing we sell, say or show is veterinary advice; if your pet is unwell, see a vet.

3. Product warranty

We warrant that a product you buy from furranium.com will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from delivery, under normal household use. If it is not, tell us at contact@furranium.com with your order number and a photo, and we will replace it or, if we cannot, refund what you paid for it. That is our whole obligation under this warranty. It does not cover ordinary wear, damage from misuse, accidents, chewing or alteration, or products bought from anyone else. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary from state to state.

4. The Furranium app

Licence. The app is free. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it on devices you own or control, for your own household. The licence you accepted from the store you downloaded it from (Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, or Google Play's terms) also applies; these terms add to it, and where the two conflict about our relationship with you, these terms govern.

No account. The app has no account and we hold none of your data, so we cannot recover hunts, sightings or clips that are lost, for example when a phone is erased, replaced or broken, or when the app is deleted.

Paw Hunt. Paw Hunt is a game for cats, played on your device's screen. Stay with your cat while they play. Claws and teeth can scratch, crack or knock over a device; whether to let your cat play on your screen, and any damage to the device, a screen protector or anything nearby, is your decision and your responsibility. Stop if your cat seems stressed or frustrated.

Pet Cam is for watching your pet, and only that.

  • It is not a security, safety or medical device. Pet Cam recognises animals with software that can miss them or mistake other things for them. Phones overheat, lose power, lose their connection and fall over. Do not rely on Pet Cam to protect your home, to keep a pet or a person safe, to detect an emergency or an illness, or in place of proper care and supervision of your animal.
  • Use it lawfully and considerately. Use Pet Cam only in your own home or on property you control. It records pictures, not sound. It may still capture people. You are responsible for telling the people who live in, work in or visit your home that a camera is in use, for getting any consent the law where you live requires, and for not pointing it at places where people expect privacy, such as bathrooms and bedrooms used by others, or at anyone else's property. Do not use Pet Cam to watch or record people.
  • The camera phone. Pet Cam asks a phone to stay on, plugged in and working for long periods, which phones are not primarily built for, and older phones least of all. Use the manufacturer's or a certified charger and cable; stand the phone on a hard, open, non-flammable surface with air around it, out of direct sun and away from bedding, paper and curtains; keep the phone and its cable where your pet cannot chew, knock or pull them; and check it regularly. Stop using a phone that becomes hot, swells, or has a damaged battery, case or cable. The camera light adds heat; use it sparingly. You use the phone you choose as a camera at your own risk.
  • The relay. When your phones are apart they connect through a relay we run. We provide it free and do our best to keep it running, but we do not promise that it will always be available, fast or uninterrupted, and we apply fair-use limits to keep it working for everyone. We may change, limit, suspend or end it; if we end it, we will say so on this website first where we reasonably can.
  • Links are keys. A pairing link or a family invitation lets whoever holds it watch your camera. Send them only to people you trust, remove a phone you no longer want watching from "Who can watch", and keep the phones themselves locked. What the people you invite do with what they see is between you and them.
  • Your clips are yours. Clips and the record of your pet's day are stored on your own devices, and in your own iCloud if you turn that on. We have no copy and no way to see, restore or delete them.

What you must not do. Do not use the app or the relay to break the law or to watch people; do not interfere with or overload the relay, try to read other people's traffic, or get around the checks that admit devices to it; do not copy, modify, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law says you may despite this sentence. We may refuse the relay to a device that does any of this.

If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, you and we agree that: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content; your licence is limited to using the app on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store's usage rules allow; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app; if the app fails to conform to a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, and Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app; we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims about the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection, privacy or similar claims; if anyone claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim; you represent that you are not located in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties; you must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile data agreement; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Questions or complaints about the app go to the contact details in section 11.

5. The website and our brand

The website, the app, and the words, pictures, designs and software in them belong to us or to those who license them to us. Furranium® and the Furranium logo are our trademarks. You may use the website and the app for their ordinary purpose; you may not copy them, scrape them, use them to build a competing product, or use our name or marks without our written permission. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely and owe you nothing for them. Links to other websites are for your convenience; we are not responsible for what is on them.

6. No other warranties

The website and the app, including Paw Hunt, Pet Cam and the relay, are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and any warranty that they will be uninterrupted, accurate, secure or free of errors. For the physical products we sell, the warranty in section 3 is the only express warranty we give, and any implied warranty is limited in duration to that same one year. Some states do not allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, so that limit may not apply to you. Section 10 says how this section applies in New Jersey.

7. Limit of our liability

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost clips or recordings, or damage to a phone, tablet or other device, arising from the website, the app, the relay or a product, however caused and even if we were told it could happen. Our total liability for all claims arising from the website, the app, the relay or a product is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose and US$100. These limits apply whatever the legal theory, and they are part of the bargain between us: the app and the relay are free, and our prices do not include insuring against such losses. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Section 10 says how this section applies in New Jersey.

8. If your use causes a claim against us

If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law — for example by using Pet Cam to record people without the notice or consent the law requires — you agree to cover our reasonable costs, losses and legal fees from that claim. We will tell you about the claim promptly and may choose to run the defence ourselves.

9. Disputes

Talk to us first. Most problems are solved with an e-mail. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to write to contact@furranium.com with your name, what went wrong and what you want, and to give us 30 days to put it right. We will do the same before bringing a claim against you.

Arbitration. If that does not settle it, you and we agree that any dispute arising from these terms, the website, the app, the relay or a product will be decided by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, and not in court, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may go to court to stop misuse of intellectual property. The arbitrator, not a court, decides whether a dispute is covered by this section. The arbitration may be held by telephone, by video or on written submissions, or in person in the county where you live. For a claim of US$10,000 or less that is not frivolous, we will pay the AAA's filing, administration and arbitrator fees. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. You and we each give up the right to a trial by jury.

No class actions. You and we agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims. If a court decides that this paragraph cannot be enforced for a particular claim, that claim alone goes to court and the rest stays in arbitration.

You may opt out. You may opt out of arbitration and the class action waiver by e-mailing contact@furranium.com with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" and your name within 30 days of first agreeing to these terms. Opting out changes nothing else between us.

Law and courts. The laws of the State of New Jersey govern these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute that is not arbitrated, you and we agree to the state and federal courts located in New Jersey, except that you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live if your local law gives you that right.

Time limit. A claim must be brought within one year after it arose, unless the law where you live does not allow that period to be shortened, in which case the law's period applies.

10. New Jersey residents

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability in New Jersey for our own intentional, reckless or grossly negligent conduct, for personal injury or property damage caused by a defective product under the New Jersey Products Liability Act, for punitive damages under the New Jersey Punitive Damages Act, or for violations of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, the New Jersey Uniform Commercial Code or the Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act. In New Jersey, the limit on the duration of implied warranties in section 6, the exclusion of incidental and consequential damages and the cap in section 7, the indemnity in section 8, and the one-year time limit in section 9 apply only to the extent New Jersey law permits them, and do not apply to the liabilities listed in this paragraph.

11. The rest

Changes. We may change these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top, and for changes that matter to you we say so on this page for 30 days. A change applies to orders placed, and use of the website and app, after it is posted; it never changes the terms of an order you have already placed. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the website and the app.

If part of this fails. If a court or arbitrator finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force, except as the "No class actions" paragraph says.

Everything else. These terms and the policies they name are the whole agreement between you and us about their subject. Our not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a company that takes over the business. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by things beyond our reasonable control. You agree to follow the export laws that apply to the app.
